As time goes on, more and more cars are using automatic transmissions. Manual transmissions might be fun and engaging, but they comically slow compared to modern dual-clutch style transmissions. It might anger a lot of people, but the manual transmission is on its way out. Interestingly enough, many of these dual-clutch transmissions can be tuned to shift even faster than they do from the factory. This is where our tuning division, VR Tuned, comes into play. A dual clutch works like so: one clutch has an odd number gear engaged, the computer figures out which even number gear you will need next, have the second clutch ready that gear and switch clutches when the time is right. Essentially, the computer needs to figure out if you’re going to need to shift up or shift down, and then perform that action as quickly as smoothly as possible. On top of that, the computer also needs to shift at the optimal shift point. Our VR Tuned system improves upon all this. Unlike other DSG tuning systems on the market, our system allows you to flash your DSG at home easily. All you need is the provided OBDII cable and a Windows power laptop (or Mac booted into Windows). Once tuning is complete, your car will drive perfectly normal during normal driving conditions, but once you put your foot down, you will experience higher shifts points, faster shifts, and the transmission behaving much sportier with less random and unwanted upshifts.
