The Porsche 996 Carrera is very important to Porsche history as it was the first water cooled Carrera and my own first Porsche.  Available in a 3.4L from 1999-2001 and 3.6L 2002-2004, the Carrera has become the latest to boom in the tuning world.  In the 4th owner market, these beautiful sports cars can be had in the $20-$30K range.  Making them great for daily drivers or even track cars.  The 320 horsepower in the 3.6L could use some extra boost.  The best modification combination on these vehicles is an exhaust and ECU Flash.  The ECU flash helps in throttle response, torque, and horsepower.  With adjustments made to the torque limiter, the car pics up power and revs out much quicker.  The mid range pulls and even to the top of the RPM band the car keeps making power.  For those with the 6speed manual trans versions, the rev limiter can be safely raised 500rpm.  All the tuning for the Porsche 996 Carrera ME7 ECU is done via the OBDII port with our iFlash system.  You can see the simple read and write instructions here.

One of our customers sent us these photos and shared with us his feedback saying, “The tune made a noticeable difference in smoothness of off idle acceleration, and cleared up a dead spot around the 3400 rpm range. The midrange gained a noticeable difference in pull especially in third gear. Overall it feels more responsive and I’m happy with the results.
