We all know Porsche makes some of the best sports cars in the world. The 911 has been the go-to high-end performance car for decades; however, many enthusiasts think it has become bloated. With every new generation comes an increase in size and weight. For those who want to Porsche experience in a smaller and lighter chassis, the Cayman is the answer. The latest generation 718 Cayman might not have the awesome sounding flat-six engine of the 981, but the new turbocharged flat-four presents a much better opportunity for aftermarket upgrades.

While most naturally aspirated engines see small power gains with a tune, turbocharged engines can see massive power gains. In the case of the base 718 Cayman, Porsche used a 2.0L turbocharged flat-four engine. In stock form, this engine outputs 300 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. This is enough power to make the Cayman fun to drive, but for many enthusiasts, it’s not enough. Like we mentioned above, the turbocharged nature of the new 718 Cayman means big power gains with a simple tune.

Our VR Tuned ECU flash changes parameters such as target boost, air/fuel ratio, ignition timing, rev limiters, throttle limiters, and much more. Porsche left quite a bit of performance on the table for the 2.0L 718, as they probably didn’t want to take sales from the more expensive 2.5L 718 models. With just a stage 1 file, you’ll find a +48hp and +52lb-ft gain, and our stage 2 file sees even larger power gains!

  • Stock Power: 300hp and 280lb-ft
  • Stage 1 VR Tuned Power: 348hp and 332lb-ft
  • Stage 2 VR Tuned Power: 366hp and 350lb-ft
